Dunbar Jewelers Diamonds

We will take your diamond buying experience to the next level. Buying a diamond can be one of the more confusing purchases a consumer can make. It can be difficult for a consumer to discern diamond factors just by looking at them. That’s why the credentials, expertise and integrity of your jeweler are so important. We carry many shapes and sizes of diamonds and can show you the benefits of each.  All of our diamonds are sourced from trusted suppliers that adhere to the Kimberly Process. The Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS) imposes extensive requirements on its members to enable them to certify shipments of rough diamonds as ‘conflict-free' and prevent conflict diamonds from entering the legitimate trade.

We have an American Gem Society accredited gem lab that has state of the art equipment that can evaluate diamonds to exacting standards. We independently evaluate all diamonds that we sell to verify grades given to them by other grading labs. Certain Gem Labs in the industry are commonly known by jewelers to be far too lenient on their grading. If the diamonds do not meet our strict standards we will reject them so that you will only see our best and brightest.

Most retail establishments will give you the weight, color and clarity of a diamond, but do not offer any information concerning the symmetry and polish. This last element is critically important, since this is what gives diamonds brilliance and fire. It actually has as much influence on the price and value of a diamond as do the color and clarity.

Once the diamonds arrive at Dunbar’s they are carefully checked that their cut, color and clarity is, in fact, what was stated, then given a cut grade based on the strictest of standards made by the American Gem Society.
